“Like the creation goddesses acknowledged within these pages, as women we are all creatresses. As such, we reflect the universe within ourselves and our bodies. With our bodies, we can give birth to life. With our hearts and minds, we can give birth to works that can change the world. Using this equation, is it any wonder so many goddesses are honored as the Great Mother?”

“Gorgeously illustrated, beautifully written, and multi-cultural. A must for every Goddess-centered household. Sure to be a classic.” —Starhawk, Spiral Dance

“A delicious, lushly illustrated book which will lift the spirits of the little women coming up in the twenty-first century!” —Zsuzsanna Budapest, The Goddess in the Bedroom

It astonishes me to consider that it has been nearly twenty-five years since The Book of Goddesses was originally published. When I first wrote and illustrated The Book of Goddesses way back when, I had no idea it would be received so enthusiastically! It was also my first book that reached a wide audience of adults along with children. Eventually The Book of Goddesses served as inspiration for The Goddess Tarot, a Grammy-nominated chamber music suite by composer Robert Patterson, and other works of art.
